In this work general notions on the concept of energy are presented. The Energy Room of Universum, the UNAM Science Museum is used as a reference on science communication on this subject. The importance of a good education on this subject is emphasized, as society has to take fundamental decisions on energy consumption. As an example future scenarios on the energy requirements for Mexico are given and some solutions are presented.
