ABSTRACT

María Elena Ruiz Gallut

The deity of rain known as Tlaloc, had a relevant presence in the cultures that developed in the Mesoamerican territory. Its importance is manifested in the many apparitions of the God, associated as much as in the creation of the religion as well as in the practice of it, closely linked to the practice of power. From this perspective, the text analyzes examples of the deity coming from two sites in the actual Republic of El Salvador and its link with migrations that took place from the center of Mexico in times of the Post-classic.
