ABSTRACT

The Dinosaur Tracks in Mexico and its Study

Ricardo Servín Pichardo

The study of dinosaur tracks provides important biological information. Along with body fossils, they are complementary evidence in the paleontological research of these Mesozoic vertebrates. The ichnological records of dinosaurs in Mexico, whose studies begun in 1978 and have been increasing since the 1990s, are located in the states of Oaxaca, Michoacan, Puebla, Durango, Chihuahua, Coahuila and Sonora, with ages from Late Jurassic to Late Cretaceous. The Cretaceous records are the most abundant and best known in our country.
