ABSTRACT
From Postmodern to Postmexicans
Trends in Dramaturgy at the Ending and Beginning of the Millennium
Alberto Castillo Pérez
This text states that Mexican dramaturgy has been affected by cultural and economic changes that Mexico has undergone as a result of globalization. In the last decade of the last century the great unifying national figures such as State, religion and History are eroded, while the appropriation of foreign cultural products becomes a common feature. In the first decade of this century these phenomena are exacerbated, giving rise to a postmexican condition, which in dramaturgy manifests as a crisis in the very concept of what a dramatic text is.
