ABSTRACT
Base on the content of the amparo 217/14 of the Supreme Court Minister, Mr. Arturo Zaldivar mentioned among others points that marijuana produces the same respiratory problems as any other smoked substance and this is less harmful than other substances such as opium or amphetamines. Indeed, alcohol consumption, smoking and other chronic diseases represent major health issues not comparable to the potential harm of marijuana. However, this is not an inoffensive drug.
This article will describe and discuss briefly the significant relationship between alcohol and tobacco consumption and the subsequent the consumption of Cannabis, bioethics and its unquestionable validity in the analysis of emerging situations, disasters or addictions; the easy comparison often made between life in the United States and the consumption of marijuana with what happens in Mexico (completely different realities); to conclude with the importance of change the paradigm of the criminal sphere to public health, this while it is continues deepening in the public health term and the relevance of establishing a strategy for drug control in our country.
