ABSTRACT
Marijuana is the most widely consumed illicit drug internationally. Following its possible legalization as a medicinal or recreational drug, several important issues arise, including those addressing its psychological aspects and consequences related to its consumption. In this article, a review is done on the subject from the motivational model, making an effort to differentiate the individual, interpersonal and environmental variables that influence vulnerability to consume the substance.
