ABSTRACT

Law of large numbers, Monte Carlo simulation.

Patricia Romero y Raúl Rueda

Ars Conjectandi, the posthumous work of Jacob Bernoulli was published 300 years ago, but still has a strong impact on a variety of areas. In this paper we set out to show its importance in the area of stochastic simulation and specifically in the Monte Carlo method. Our aim is to illustrate, in a simple way, what this method is about and highlight the importance of the work of Bernoulli in its development.
