ABSTRACT

Instructional design: fertile field for designer raid in lifelong learning

María Eugenia Guerra Meza

Graphic design involves various fields of communication; however, educational design has been neglected both by the designers and the institutions dedicated to train graphic communicators.

If specialists, professionals, and students of visual communication study the domains of education and learning, they will find a fertile ground for the development of a non-manipulative communication. That will be on service to society and would enhance the development and growth of disadvantaged groups. The use of graphic design software along with the new technologies will allow friendly access for people to knowledge, as well as empowering information sharing for educational and not just recreational purposes. This will be reached through the use of didactic materials designed specifically to solve the needs of learners.
