ABSTRACT
This paper reviews some of the current researches around the poetry interpolated in romances of chivalry of the sixteenth century Spain, where verse and prose are intertwined as to provide a structural model quite common in the literature of the Middle Ages and the Golden Age. The objective of these reflections is to present the way both discursive models (prose and verse) interact among each other, and later how they relate to fiction. This paper also presents an overview of some relevant studies in the field of poetry interspersed in the Hispanic romances of chivalry.
