When the Heart Affects the Mind: The Link Between Hypertension and Alzheimer’s

High blood pressure and Alzheimer’s disease may seem unrelated at first, one affects the heart and blood vessels, the other memory and mental functions. However, recent scientific findings reveal a deeper connection between them. This article explores how elevated blood pressure, beyond its cardiovascular effects, can slowly harm the brain by creating an environment that favors the development of Alzheimer’s. It also delves into the physiological processes involved in both conditions and the relationship between them.
