Abstract

On one hand, tissue engineering has become an important field of scientific research and it has been a prominent tool for the current regenerative medicine. On the other hand, the study of biomaterials for biomedical applications is strongly focused on mimicking of nature and on generation of solutions that more closely resembles the human body biology. In addition, nowadays there is greater awareness to generate more sustainable materials and environmentally friendly. This work shows different strategies developed by the author in order to produce biocompatible materials that could be used in tissue engineering applications mainly bone regeneration, considering the sustainability for their obtaining.
