When daydreaming separates us from reality

Reality is one of the most complex concepts that human beings can face. Generally, we base reality on what our senses perceive. What we see, touch, hear, taste and smell is, in essence, real. The problem arises when, even if our senses are registering information, there is no anchor with reality, we do not conceive it as ours. Derealization-depersonalization is a dissociative disorder in which we feel separated from ourselves and our surroundings. In this brief essay we will reflect on this phenomenon. Additionally, we come to a conclusion: whatever disorder afflicts us, we must seek the support of health professionals.
