Ecological anthropology: science combination or déjà vu?
Keywords:
anthropology, ecology, sustainability, educationAbstract
This article recounts the striking similarities I found between an environmental science and a social science. As a biologist, studying Ecological Anthropology became a déjà vu as I discovered that both disciplines share concepts, interests, perceptions and even efforts, to study those phenomena that will allow us to build a better world through education for sustainability. Understanding that we need each other to build new knowledge and share the existing one is the beginning of a real multidisciplinary vision in the academy, far from ingrained vices and selfishness that have only hinder the efforts to achieve the still utopian sustainability in our planet.
