Emotional challenges in Educational Innovation
Keywords:
EmotionsAbstract
Individuals involved involved in the process of innovating in education experience a wide range of emotions. In this regard, it is stated that innovation is emotionally challenging. This work explores how the process of change and adaptation originates from a passion and enthusiasm for improvement, for making a difference in response to the current world. These emotions enable innovation; however, they could also generate uncertainty, resistence to change, and emotions such as anxiety, fear or frustration. If not managed properly, these emotions can become inhibitors of innovation. A series of actions are proposed to manage emotions for those who choose to innovate in education.
